U.S. Leads in World’s Fattest Country

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development conducted a study using the 33 richest countries in the world. According to the study, one in six adults is classified as obese. The top two countries with the most obese people was the U.S. and Mexico, where roughly one third of the adults were classified as obese.

It’s really sad to see that of all the things the U.S. strives to succeed with, the thing we are best at is being fat. It is embarrassing to see the significant difference we, as Americans’, weigh compared to those in India and China who have less than three percent of their people overweight.

It’s not that we have fast-food and they don’t, it’s a matter of self-control that our population lacks. Unfortunately, no matter how many treatments a physician may try, it is solely up to the obese individual to change their lifestyle. Without a change, our death rate will only continue to go up each year as more and more people suffer from stoke, heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and more treacherous things that all lead back to one thing: obesity.
